I returned to work on Monday, after nearly three weeks off. It has been horrendous. It’s a travesty that I am expected to live like this. When will it end? Anyway, here’s the Daily Bee.
This ones not really
“news”, so I thought I’d mention it before we get into the latest BVB and Bundesliga news: Get German Football News (GGFN) have released their ranking of the top 100 players in Germany. The GGFN 100 is a comprehensive report giving plenty of detail about the process and the numbers that went into each choice. It looks pretty good!
It won’t come as much surprise that Bayern Munich dominate the rankings, with Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Joshua Kimmich making up the top three, and a further eight Bayern players in the top 20 (14 total in the 100). Borussia Dortmund are also well represented, with Serhou Guirassy the highest-placed BVB player in fourth, followed by Nico Schlotterbeck in ninth, and a further nine players receiving a ranking: Gregor Kobel (14), Karim Adeyemi (17), Felix Nmecha (19), Daniel Svensson (31), Waldemar Anton (34), Maximilian Beier (38), Julian Ryerson (45), Julian Brandt (75), Ramy Bensebaini (83).
BVB News
- Nico Schlotterbeck’s agent has suggested a move to Barcelona could be on the cards. By my count, basically every team in the world is in for Nico.
- Borussia Dortmund winger Cole Campbell has joined Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase option reported to be somewhere between €7-12m.
- It looks like Julian Brandt and Emre Can will sign contract extensions in the coming weeks.
Bundesliga News
- VfB Stuttgart have rejected Bournemouth’s €40m bid for winger Jamie Leweling.
- Bayern Munich are interested in snatching Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
- The biggest move of the January window is almost complete. Despite reports of some late drama, it looks like Daniel Peretz’s move to Southampton will be finalised soon. The Bayern goalkeeper will join Southampton on a loan until the end of the season, and the Championship side have an €8m purchase option.
Your Thoughts?
What do you make of the GGFN 100? Do you agree with their top 3-5 rankings? Have they treated BVB’s players fairly? Let us know in the comments.
