The Washington Commanders are releasing new alternate uniforms tomorrow, but the alternate logo has reportedly been leaked a day early. Homage posted and deleted an image of a new Commanders sweatshirt with a spear running through the W logo. Washington has been adding spear imagery over the last year in preparation for changes to the team’s branding.
Zach Cohen is a uniform/branding insider, and has been giving updates on teams across the league, including the recent changes to Washington’s uniforms.
He confirmed this will be the team’s alternate logo. The Commanders introduced white ‘Super Bowl Era’ alternates last season that are expected to replace the Danya Snyder-designed current uniforms. Washington is expected to debut a burgundy version tomorrow, that will eventually replace the current burgundy jerseys. The Commanders’ ‘Battle Black’ uniforms are expected to stay with some tweaks.
