Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg is typically plugged into the transfer dealings of Bayern Munich.
When engaging in a Sky Germany Q&A, Plettenberg was asked about quite a few Bayern Munich-related topics. This is what he had to say about where things stand on several situations.
Nico Schlotterbeck
It is no secret that Bayern Munich likes Nico Schlotterbeck, but Plettenberg feels like he will ink a new deal with BVB.
Question: Will Nico Schlotterbeck extend his contract with BVB?
Plettenberg: “I think so. Dortmund
is making him a great offer and he’s still too expensive for Bayern.”
Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Dayot Upamecano, Raphaël Guerreiro, and Manuel Neuer
This one offers a few surprises. Plettenberg thinks Manuel Neuer will retire and that Raphaël Guerreiro will actually get a new deal with Bayern Munich.
Question: The contracts of Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Dayot Upamecano, Raphaël Guerreiro, and Manuel Neuer expire this summer. Who will leave, who will stay?
Plettenberg: “Gnabry will extend his contract, the likelihood for Goretzka is a free transfer, and I can imagine Guerreiro extending his contract. My gut feeling about Neuer tells me he will end his career, and Upamecano will extend his contract with a release clause.”
Alexander Nübel
It looks like Alexander Nübel will need to find a new home for next season.
Question: Does Alexander Nübel still have a future at VfB Stuttgart after the summer?
Plettenberg: “No, but not at FC Bayern either.”
Nicolas Jackson
Plettenberg does not think Bayern Munich will consider bringing back Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson.
Question: Will Bayern Munich sign Nicolas Jackson permanently?
Plettenberg: “No.”
Sacha Boey
For anyone hoping to see a direct sale of Boey soon, you might be disappointed. Bayern Munich’s asking price might just be too high.
Question: Will a club pay 20 million euros for Sacha Boey?
Plettenberg: “I currently consider that unlikely. If he leaves, a loan with an option to buy is currently the most likely option.”
