Bayern Munich is in a good moment, to put it lightly. The roarin’ Bavarians are soaring under head coach Vincent Kompany with an enviable setup that boasts several of the world’s best attackers — and the goal-scoring record to back it up.
Leading the way are Ballon d’Or front-runners Harry Kane and Michael Olise — two mega-stars Bayern can consider itself lucky to have assembled together at the same time. Can they keep them together, though? Former Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is optimistic.
Karl-Heinz
Rummenigge is confident that Michael Olise and Harry Kane will stay at Bayern for a long time: “Both of them intend to stay at Bayern for a long time. I hope, and I’m also very confident, that Harry will extend his contract soon,” Rummenigge said for Ransport in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “And that Michael will be next. I would like to see him stay at Bayern for many more years.
“We at FC Bayern can consider ourselves very fortunate to have two players in Harry Kane and Michael Olise who are among the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or. They are world-class players, and world-class players don’t grow on trees — they have been such important figures for us for some time now.”
As for how likely either is to capture the coveted prize? It is hard to say, but a recent community feed post took look at their numbers over the 2025/26 campaign, and it certainly puts them up there:
#1-2 in that list, though, are Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal…
We will see how the final Ballon d’Or voting shakes out. Regardless, Bayern can be thanking their lucky stars for these two. Long may they both remain in the fold.
