After the disappointment of the weekend, Chelsea switch gears and hit the road, traveling up to Noni Madueke’s favorite place for a Wednesday night Carabao Cup clash against the locals. Unfortunately, Noni’s no longer here to put three past them, so someone else will have to step up.
Who that someone might be is a bit of a mystery. Rotation is not only expected, but is absolutely necessary given the congested schedule, though the various injuries and fitness concerns in the squad do limit our options
a bit.
One big positive news in that regard is the return of Liam Delap. He won’t quite be ready for a full 90 minutes, having not played since August, but he’s available for selection and should add a whole different dimension to our attack (much needed, one might say after watching us fail to break down Sunderland’s massed ranks on Saturday).
