There are plenty of Bayern Munich players entering the new season with something to prove, but not necessarily for the same reasons.
Tom Bischof has already shown that he can be selfless and adapt when asked to play out of position, but now comes the opportunity to establish himself in a more prominent role. Can he turn the flashes we saw last season into consistent performances?
Then there is Lennart Karl, perhaps one of the most exciting young talents in the squad. The hype surrounding him is growing
quickly, and while there is no need to rush his development, the 2026/27 season could be his first real opportunity to show that he belongs at the senior level.
Alphonso Davies has a different challenge. After injuries disrupted his progress, he needs to rediscover the explosiveness and consistency that made him one of the best left-backs in the world.
Jamal Musiala also has something to prove after his injury setback. Nobody questions his talent, but returning to his best level and staying healthy will be crucial.
And then there is Kim Min-jae, who needs to find the consistency required to become a dependable cornerstone of Bayern Munich’s defense.
