Arguably the most talented football player in the city of Louisville is staying.
Christian Academy wide receiver Ja’Hyde Brown (2027), who had previously been committed to Indiana, picked U of L over Kentucky, Alabama and a host of others Monday afternoon.
A four-star prospect, Brown has helped the Centurions to state champions in each of his first three seasons of high school football. As a junior in 2025, Brown led the state of Kentucky in receptions, catching 98 passes for a whopping 1,556 yards
and 24 touchdowns as CAL finished the season 15-0.
He is ridiculous.
Brown is also a Card Chronicle legacy.
He and his father, Julian, used to sit in front of us at football games about 12 or 13 years ago. When he was seven or eight or thereabouts, he let me know that he was playing a championshop game at Cardinal Stadium that weekend. I told him if he scored a touchdown and his team won, I’d put him on the radio show and the website. I think he scored six.
He made his radio and website debut shortly thereafter.
This is a monster get for Jeff Brohm … and for the CC/Rutherford Show community.
Welcome home, Ja’Hyde.
