Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl visited head coach Vincent Kompany in the hospital on Saturday, offering some insight into how the head coach is doing following his recent collapse at Säbener Straße.
Eberl explained that their conversation had nothing to do with football, with the priority firmly on Kompany’s health and recovery.
“I visited Vinnie in hospital on Saturday. We talked about life. We didn’t talk about the Bundesliga or the starting lineup. He’s doing well considering the circumstances.
He’s still undergoing tests, but I’m not going to give any updates about that here. We first have to find out exactly what he has, and then let the treatment run. And then when he’s full of energy and healthy again, he will be back,” Eberl said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich are still waiting for answers as Kompany undergoes further medical examinations, and the club is keeping details of his condition private while doctors work to establish what happened.
For now, football takes a back seat. Aaron Danks and the coaching staff will continue handling the team’s preparations, while Kompany focuses on getting healthy.
The most important thing is that he makes a full recovery. Bayern Munich will be waiting for him when he is ready to return.
