The Wisconsin Badgers have quite the matchup ahead of them on Saturday, as they’re taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa this weekend, with kickoff slated for 11:00 a.m.
Wisconsin enters the game as a massive 21.5-point underdog, but there could be some news that shifts the tide closer in their favor.
Alabama has been without starting running back Jam Miller since he suffered a collarbone injury during fall camp. Miller was expected to return after Alabama’s bye week when they face Georgia
in Week 5, but he is now day-to-day in practice, according to Crimson Tide head coach Kalen Deboer.
Deboer said that Alabama is “optimistic” that Miller can play this weekend, but “I really don’t think we’ll know until later in the week.”
Alabama was also without star wide receiver Ryan Williams, who was in the concussion protocol, in Week 2.
“This week will be a little trickier with him getting limited opportunities,” DeBoer said last Monday. “But that’s going to allow someone else to step up and kind of continue to figure out the dynamics of how we feel with our receiving core and the people that should be out there.”
If both are out, then Wisconsin could have a better matchup, but they’ll have to game-plan for both situations heading into the weekend.
Of course, if both are able to play, that only makes a difficult situation even tougher for the Badgers. DeBoer acknowledged that injury updates on both will be clearer in the middle of the week, so stay tuned for the latest on the situation.
