Nottingham Forest’s current situation with three draws and six losses since their last victory two months ago against Brentford made Chelsea the clear favourites at City Ground. Even if the feeling is superstitious, it does feel like we fare worse in matches like these where the most is expected out of us.
The hosts lacked bite and so did we in the first half. Chances went begging on both sides, although we created more of those and looked like the better team for most of the initial 45 minutes.
We
needed some adjustments and they came through with a triple substitution at half-time. The subs weren’t a direct part of it, but they did help unlock Pedro Neto who provided us the assist to Josh Acheampong’s first ever Chelsea goal, and then scored a goal of his own less than five minutes after that.
Forest would try their best not to let us get away with this scot-free. But it was Chelsea who ended up getting the best out of it, with a third goal from captain Reece James.
Carefree!
- Reece James in central midfield, and Andrey Santos as central attacking midfielder.
- Not a very exciting first half.
- Pedro Neto makes up for the absolute boredom of the first 45 minutes in less than 10 minutes of play!
- Yet another red card. When will we fix our discipline?
- Next up: Ajax at home in the Champions League.
- KTBFFH!
