We’re coming off of another eventful week of recruiting for everyone’s favorite college basketball conference. You know the drill after last week.
Here’s what you need to know from the past week:
Maryland lands commitment from 4-star 2026 guard
Buzz Williams
and the Terrapins built out their 2026 recruiting class even further, adding a commitment from Kaden House, a 4-star shooting guard out of Compass Prep in Arizona. House is ranked as one of the best shooting guards in the class and is a top-50 prospect nationally, per Rivals/On3.
4-star 2026 guard decommits from Ohio State
You win some, you lose some apparently applies to recruiting as well.
Last week, Jake Diebler and co. locked up a commitment from 5-star 2026 small forward Anthony Thompson, one of the top players in the country and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Ohio. Great news! This week? The Buckeyes lose a different in-state commit, 4-star 2026 point guard Marcus Johnson. Less great news.
Obviously there’s plenty of time to recover and make up for this, but it’s definitely a blow. For now it looks like the kid from Cleveland will be taking his talents elsewhere (hey, Jai Lucas could use some help in South Beach! [it’s a joke it’s a joke it’s a joke it’s a])
Indiana trending for 4-star 2026 wing
Vaughn Karvala, a 4-star small forward in the class of 2026, is set to announce his college decision with a final three of Indiana, Cal and Xavier. He’s trending to the Hoosier, per the projections of multiple national recruiting services including Rivals/On3 and 247Sports.
He’d be a good get for a first year head coach looking to rebuild a storied program and DeVries seems to love his wings. Mmmmm, wings.
USC, UCLA and Maryland make top-6 for 4-star 2026 guard
USC, UCLA and Maryland are in the running to land Miles Sadler, a 4-star point guard in the class of 2026. That’s half of the list of six programs still under consideration by Sadler, with the others being Tennessee, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
G-League guard hearing from Ohio State
So, yeah, G-League players can go the college route now, apparently. Sure.
However you may feel about that, it’s happening right now. TJ Clark, a former G-League player, is hearing from a few programs, including Ohio State.
