CRU is no longer. The AEW and ROH tag team of Lio Rush and Action Andretti, with the occasional presence of Lacey Lane, broke up at Supercard of Honor. The writing was on the wall when Lio evolved into his Blackheart character without explanation. This closed the door on that tag team chapter, so Lio can run solo.
This wasn’t a peaceful breakup. Action did Lio dirty in the ROH World Television Championship bout against AR Fox at Supercard of Honor. Action arrived during the match to apparently show
support for Lio, but he actually had an ulterior motive. When Lio had momentum climbing the corner, Action shoved his partner off the turnbuckles. Fox had no part in that plan, but he benefit anyway. The champ landed a 450 splash to keep his gold.
Backstage, Action confirmed that CRU is done. He felt slighted that Lio ignored his calls. That anger lit a fire in Action to cause pain.
Lio responded in the Blackheart character, which is to say I don’t know what’s going on.
Goodbye to CRU, we hardly knew you. Lio and Action peaked for one AEW tag title shot on Collision and one CMLL tag title shot in Arena Mexico. The tipping point was probably those pointy jackets. That is enough to drive a man insane.
