The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on UW-Platteville in their final exhibition game on Wednesday before the season opener next week.
The Badgers changed things up this season, going with two exhibition games
rather than one, as they hosted the Oklahoma Sooners for a game in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum last Thursday. It was a tight-knit battle, with the Sooners outlasting the Badgers 84-83 in a game that went down to the wire.
In that one, John Blackwell led the way with 20 points, while transfer additions Nick Boyd and Austin Rapp poured in 19 and 17 points, respectively. Wisconsin didn’t shoot all that well, hitting only 43.5 percent of its shots, including only 32.3 percent from deep. But, they lost by only one, despite Oklahoma shooting above 50 percent from the field and 55 percent from deep on the day.
It was a valuable experience for the team, head coach Greg Gard said, and a good building block for growth as Wisconsin nears the regular season. The Badgers will officially kick off their season on Monday, taking on Campbell at the Kohl Center, with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. on Big Ten play.
But first, they’ll host UW-Platteville on Wednesday in their final exhibition contest. How can you watch the game?
