It’s Monday, and we are back at it! Fresh off a weekend of football games, there was a lot of action! News will continue to come your way, and we are here for it all. Check out our original coverage and what
we can find from the World Wide Web below.
Defense leads the way in Broncos win.
It certainly wasn’t Boise State’s best win of the season, but it still counts. The Wolf Pack actually led this game 3-0 after the first quarter, but unfortunately for them, that was all they would score. In a game where the Bronco offense never really found its rhythm, the defense stepped up, forcing five turnovers and nullifying the Wolf Pack’s drives until the offense found ways to score.
Lobos win in “revenge” game.
New Mexico fans probably had more bad blood entering this than any players did, but it felt good to beat Bronco Mendenhall and Utah State all the same. The Lobos move to five wins following this game and won in commanding fashion, thanks to a big second quarter and a strong defensive effort.
Aztecs blank Bulldogs, win Old Oil Can.
San Diego State reached a bowl game in Year 2 of the Sean Lewis era, beating rival Fresno State. They did nearly everything right in this game, scoring early on, while also producing a shutout on defense. The Aztec defense has emerged as the best in the Mountain West, holding the Bulldogs to a mere 45 yards rushing and getting a pick-six to boot.
Cowboys best Rams in Border War.
Both teams made changes entering this game, but only one team had anything positive to show for it. Wyoming’s offense looked like what they hoped for in this contest, putting up 28 points with balanced scoring in the air and on the ground. The Cowboy defense picked up three interceptions on the day and forced the Rams to reevaluate the quarterback situation, at least for this game. Wyoming will take the Bronze Boot along with the victory.
