Rumors about the New York Jets trading Breece Hall are back in vogue today. Hall posted a cryptic “Free 20” message on Instagram, and the rumor mill went into overdrive.
It would hardly be surprising if Hall, or any other decent Jets player, wanted out after years of losing that seem unlikely to stop any time soon. However, the Jets would have to want to part with Hall, and thus far, they have been adamant that they want to keep him. The loss of Braelon Allen for the season no doubt complicates matters, as trading Hall after losing Allen would leave the Jets extremely thin at running back. The winless Jets record also complicates things, as Aaron Glenn may not be eager to trade assets away when fans and the media are increasingly calling for him to be fired. We’ll find out by the November 4th NFL trade deadline which players, if any, the Jets will trade for draft picks. I expect the Jets to disappoint those looking for a fire sale, as Glenn needs to get some wins, and trading the Jets’ best players won’t help in that cause.
