Texas women’s golf standout Farah O’Keefe took home co-medalist honors on Tuesday at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, tying her for second overall in career victories in Texas women’s history. She now shares the second overall career victories spot with Texas alum with Sherri Steinhauer, who played from 1981 to 1985.
Here’s how Texas Athletics broke O’Keefe’s and the rest of the team’s play down:
“O’Keefe carded rounds of 71-71-70=212 (-4) and shared medalist honors with Macy Pate from Wake Forest. O’Keefe is the
second Longhorn to win medalist honors at this event as Lauren Kim won in 2023. O’Keefe helped guide the Longhorns into a fourth-place finish in stroke play, which will setup a match against No. 12 ranked Oregon tomorrow. Wake Forest earned the top seed after posting a score of 6-under in stroke play and will play second-place South Carolina (4-under) in the championship match. Oregon finished stroke play at 8-over and the Longhorns finished at 19-over after 54 holes of stroke play. Florida State was fifth at 21-over and Stanford sixth at 27-over.”
