The Cleveland Browns offseason was supposed to be in that lull period between the start of NFL free agency and the 2026 NFL draft. Reports about which prospects have made visits with the team, mock draft mayhem, and a lot of ‘what if?’ conversations were supposed to be leading the way at this point in time.
Instead, DE Myles Garrett’s contract change, ensuing rumors, and GM Andrew Berry trying to shut them down have all been the hot topics. With Garrett seemingly off the board, we return to our regularly
scheduled NFL draft prep with loads of prospect profiles, while also noting the Browns roster could see a few more returns from last year’s team.
Cleveland also had a ton of returning players who struggled last season. Whether that is OT Dawand Jones, due to performance and injury, QB Shedeur Sanders, due to being a rookie and a poor supporting cast, WR Jerry Jeudy, in all kinds of ways, CB Myles Harden, trying to lock down the slot spot, or WR Cedric Tillman, both with poor QB play and injuries.
Today’s Question of the Day is:
Which Browns player needs to rebound in 2026?
No matter what happens in the NFL draft, my answer is Jeudy. Rookie receivers can have great seasons, but the pressure of being the top guy right away is tough. Jeudy has the skillset to be a 1B-level receiver and needs to help whatever rookies are brought in at the position.
Perhaps new coaching and better quarterback play will help Jeudy raise his level of play.
Cleveland would be in a great place if Sanders “bounced back” from his rookie season to be the player many thought he could be going into the 2025 NFL draft. Jones being healthy and playing well at left tackle would help solidify the offensive line while giving a highly drafted rookie, if that is the route the Browns go, time to acclimate. It is a little harder to expect a bounce back from three straight seasons ending with injuries.
