The Cleveland Browns have struggled on offense through the first eight weeks of the 2025 NFL season.
No matter if it was veteran Joe Flacco (14 points per game and eight turnovers in four starts) or rookie
Dillon Gabriel (17.5 points and a total QBR of 25.9 in the past four games), the offense has had a difficult time getting out of its own way.
Part of the problem has been the play of the wide receivers, where presumptive No. 1 Jerry Jeudy has been ineffective, and a group of youngsters has yet to find their groove.
The annual trip to the injured reserve list from third-year wide receiver Cedric Tillman, who is tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions despite missing the past four games with a hamstring injury.
Cleveland will welcome Tillman back to the lineup on Sunday against the New York Jets after the Browns activated Tillman on Saturday.
Tillman was not the only transaction of the day as the Browns ruled out offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas with a back injury. The 12-year veteran missed practice until Friday, and even then, he was only a limited participant, so the Browns better hope that KT Leveston holds up against the Jets.
Finally, the Browns signed safety Christopher Edmonds to the active roster from the practice squad. The 6-foot-2 and 210-pound Edmonds was originally signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2024 out of Arizona State.
Edmonds played in two games as a rookie, playing three snaps on defense and 21 snaps on special teams.
