Nic Nemeth is the new world champion in TNA, and that brought out pompous bravado on Impact (July 2, 2026). So much so that Nemeth name-dropped John Cena and Randy Orton on the broadcast.
Why would Nemeth refer to WWE legends on a TNA show? They are on the list of your favorite pro wrestlers that Nemeth has put down in the ring. Ryan Nemeth unrolled an actual list with fancy script. In addition to Cena and Orton, Nemeth also called out Ultimo Dragon, Kane, Evan Bourne, Cody Rhodes, Bobby Roode, Jeff
Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Samoa Joe, John Morrison and his many last names, and more victims.
I was curious who would step up as Nemeth’s first challenger for the world title, and I’m not sure we have an answer yet. Mike Santana and Moose were not on the program. Elijah teased that he has TNA gold in his dreams.
The top candidate right now is KC Navarro. Nic mentored KC over the months, however, KC didn’t learn one of the most important lessons. Don’t trust anyone.
Nic was tired of Ryan beefing with KC, so he arranged a singles match for them to hash out their issues. Once that was over, the idea was to regroup and refocus on winning them titles to join Nic’s success. Navarro defeated Ryan fair and square. After the match, Nic wanted them to squash the beef. Nic hugged Navarro, then he struck him with the Danger Zone. DTA!
