Paul Craig is officially hanging up the gloves.
Craig faced Modestas Bukauskas in the featured bout at UFC Paris. The bout ended in nasty fashion with Bukauskas landing vicious ground-and-pound after Craig pulled card late in the first round. It was the final elbow from “The Baltic Gladiator,” which landed at the horn signifying the end of the round, that split Craig open, and put him out. The referee
had no choice but to stop it since there was no way Craig would’ve been able to get back to his feet and walk to the corner.
After the bout, Craig took off his gloves and announced his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts. The fan-favorite fighter ends his octagon run after a five-fight winless stretch, but nine octagon victories overall. The 37-year-old holds stoppage victories over current light heavyweight champ Magomed Ankalaev, and former champion Jamahal Hill.
