Word recently broke that the Texas Longhorns intend to extend athletic director Chris Del Conte’s contract, which would keep Del Conte in Austin through at least 2036, according to multiple outlets.
From the Daily Texan:
“The UT Board of Regents meeting agenda book detailed Del Conte’s potential extension. The extension, and salary raise, will be voted upon Aug. 20-21 during the Board of Regents meeting. Del Conte’s last contract extension occurred in 2023, keeping him in Austin through 2030 and guaranteeing
salaries of at least $3 million during the last two years of the contract. This new extension potentially grants Del Conte a salary of over $3 million starting in 2027, with salaries of over $4 million during the final two years of the extension.”
