Rutgers basketball added its third four-star commitment of the 2027 recruitment class, as four-star forward Brandon Woodard has decided to commit to the Scarlet Knights. Woodard made his commitment public on social media today after he took an official visit to campus earlier in the month. After his visit earlier in the month, Woodard took official visits to Georgetown and Mississippi State, but ultimately decided to commit to Rutgers.
The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward hails from Lanham, Maryland, and plays
his high school ball at Bishop McNamara High School. He is rated as the 100th best player in the class and 12th best power forward by Rivals/On3 and the 95th best player and the 19th best power forward by 247 Sports.
Woodard played 15 games for EYBL Team Durant this past summer, where he averaged 10.2 points per game, 5/1 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game.
According to 247 Sports’ Adam Finkelstein, Woodard is an elite leaper who is quick off his feet and can play up at the top of the box. Finkelstein also said that he’s a massive lob and tip-dunk threat, but most dangerous in transition, making him one of the best dunkers in high school basketball.
He joins RJ Moore and Korey Francis as the two other four-stars to commit to the Knights this class.
