Bayern Munich capped a brutal display of dominance against Atalanta at home, scoring six goals—and it could have been more. Apparently Harry Kane’s absence doesn’t equate to an absence of goals. Rather, the goal-scoring responsibilities are shouldered by the entire team, although one man personally took up the mantle in the absence of Kane.
Michael Olise put in another untouchable performance—not his first and certainly not his last in a Bayern jersey. The Frenchman provided his 22nd assist of the season
and scored two identical left-footed curlers, leaving Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi grasping at straws. A fine display from Bayern attacker.
Olise didn’t just praise his side’s performance, but also showered himself with some words of affirmation before challenging Atalanta ahead of the reverse fixture at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
“It was a really good game and I feel very good,” declared a satisfied Olise (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Personally, I think I played well and it was a solid performance. Now they have to come to our stadium, so we’ll go there with the same mentality and try to win again.”
To be fair, Olise deserves the praise whether it be from his teammates, the coaching staff, the fans or his own mouth. He has simply been magnificent this season and will be key in Bayern’s treble winning hopes.
After a series of injuries to key players, let’s hope Olise stays fit and healthy.
