We’re nearing the halfway point of the NFL regular season. Feel free to rub your eyes and get a clearer look at what you just read: We’re nearing the halfway point of the NFL regular season. Time flies when you’re having fun watching the football.
As we have done in past seasons, our staff will be making weekly predictions for every game on the NFL schedule. Each of the Pride of Detroit staff will pick the moneyline (winner of the game, no spread), but some of the members will also pick against the spread and
even the over/under lines—there’s an easy-to-use toggle button in the widget below to cycle through the settings and in the week’s ahead, check out our records when it comes to making picks. You can also check out all of the odds for this week’s games courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
For the first time in a long time, no divisional matchup this week for “Thursday Night Football.” At 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime, the Minnesota Vikings (3-3) travel out west to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) in a matchup that feels especially important for the trajectory of both teams.
A whopping six teams are on bye this week—the Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and Jacksonville Jaguars—so the NFL has just 11 games scheduled for Sunday. No international games this week, so feel free to sleep in. It’s the bye week for you Lions fans out there, so rest up and get yourselves ready for the back half of the NFL’s grueling schedule: you’ve earned it.
The local Detroit audience will have a couple of options to choose from in the 1 p.m. slot. FOX is broadcasting an NFC East rematch from a couple of weeks ago when the New York Giants (2-5) take on the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) from Lincoln Financial Field. In the same time slot over on CBS, the Chicago Bears (4-2) take their four-game win streak into Maryland to face the struggling Baltimore Ravens (1-5). In the late window, CBS will have the only offering for Michiganders when the Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) take on the Denver Broncos (5-2) at 4:25 p.m. ET from Empower Field at Mile High.
“Sunday Night Football” rounds out the day of football with a storyline fit for primetime: the Green Bay Packers (4-1-1) head to the Steel City for a matchup against a friend-turned-foe in Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) from Acrisure Stadium at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
With just one offering of “Monday Night Football” this week, Week 8 ends with a matchup that sounded good on paper until injuries hit. On ABC/ESPN, the Washington Commanders head to Arrowhead without Jayden Daniels to face the Kansas City Chiefs at 8:15 p.m. ET.
Here is who our staff is picking on the moneyline, spread, and over/under for all 13 games on the NFL Week 8 schedule:
