The Boston Celtics have traded former finals MVP Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for a package of Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
Charania provided additional details on the protections and years of the draft capital:
— 2028
first-round pick that could convert from a first to a swap that is more favorable to Bosto
— 2031 unprotected Philadelphia first
— 2028 second round, most favorable of GSW/OKC/MIL
— 2030 second, most favorable of WAS/PORT/PHX
Brown will now join a lineup that includes Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe.
The deal comes after weeks of rumors connecting Brown to the Portland Trail Blazers.
As the lead star for the Celtics in the 2025-2026 NBA season, Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 47.7% shooting from the field.
