With the summer coming to an end, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback room is slowly taking shape.
After a strong showing in Week 1 of the preseason against the Green Bay Packers, head coach Mike McCarthy is giving Mason Rudolph the week off, opting to see Will Howard and Drew Allar play the entire game. Because of this, many assume that Rudolph’s spot on the roster is secured. However there is still a chance that a trade could come together involving one of the Steelers’ quarterbacks.

The Fan, Nick Farabaugh of PennLive says that the Miami Dolphins are a team that could be interested in both Mason Rudolph and Will Howard. Miami’s current backup to Malik Willis is Quinn Ewers, who threw three touchdowns and three interceptions in four games last season.
Considering the unknown aspect of Malik Willis, should Howard or Rudolph be shipped to Miami, their chances of playing significant snaps would dramatically increase. Between Willis and Ewers, they have a combined nine career starts compared to 19 for Rudolph. Should the Steelers be really keen on keeping Rudolph, though, Howard is still an option to add another young arm to the Dolphins’ room.
