Outlook: Grand Canyon somehow made themselves look even better heading into next season on Thursday, earning a committment from Utah Tech star Kinley Pappas. Pappas earned WAC Player of the Year honors in 2026, slashing .450/.492/.858 on the year, racking up 12 home runs and 54 RBIs. It’s almost comical that other teams in the Mountain West are even supposed to compete with the Lopes at this point. Last season’s 54-win squad has the vast majority of its impactful players returning, and is now adding two players that were among the best in their respective conferences in 2026. Good luck beating this team, everyone. You’re going to need it.
