Early indications was that this game was going to be a knockdown, drag-out fight. That was a point of stress for us Seattle Seahawks fans, as the last three weeks had softened us up a bit. Eight long days
from an absolutely dominant victory over the San Francisco 49ers gave a few of us the idea that there was a chance that last night’s NFC Championship game would be a cake walk, pick your flavor. (I myself prefer coconut carrot.) Our vaunted Dark Side D found a way to play expertly against the Los Angeles Rams this season, but only in short segments and situationally. The through line of yesterday’s game, the third against the Rams, was a consistency of excellence on display from Sam Darnold and the Seahawks offense, and another fantastic performance from Jay’s Jiants, a Special Teams unit that played basically perfectly. Equal parts MVP in my book would be our QB1 “ginger cuzzin” (Darnold) and our ballsy punter (Michael Dickson with 5 dropped inside the 20) who both played the game of their lives. Personally, I’d like to rewatch last night’s game again, if only to see Sam confidently launch pinpoint throw after pinpoint throw into the soft parts of the Rams secondary. Goose pimples. Shout out to the 12s for bringing the noise once again. On to California, where we’ll be facing another incarnation of Gozer the Gozerian. Here’s hoping that we cross the streams one last time this season and save the day. What a feeling. Thanks for being here. Go, ‘Hawks!
