With Bayern Munich in the running for two cups that they haven’t won in six years, they will have to do without the resurgent Serge Gnabry (reSergent?) for up to four months due to an injury sustained from practicing penalties (weirdly enough). Vice-captain Joshua Kimmich is aware of the 30-year-old’s importance to the team and laments losing one of the team’s serviceable members.
“We miss Serge terribly. In the dressing room, on the pitch,” Kimmich said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “It’s
a really, really big loss – both as a footballer and as a person. It’s going to hurt us a lot, but I hope we can somehow compensate for it.”
The Bavarians are fortunate enough to have Jamal Musiala slowly getting back up to speed because Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof are both out injured as well, though they will both return soon. With crunch games in the horizon for the newly crowned 2025/26 Bundesliga champions, the last thing they need is more injuries to key players.
