The gates of Amon G. Carter Stadium open for the first time of the 2025 season as the TCU Horned Frogs (1-0) host the Abilene Christian Wildcats (1-1) on Saturday night in Fort Worth
In 2024 ACU made the FCS Playoffs for the first time in program history and very nearly defeated Texas Tech in a thriller. The Wildcats have climbed to No. 13 in the FCS rankings following a win over previously-ranked Stephen F. Austin. This will be Abilene’s seconds game vs. an FBS opponent this season, previously falling
at Tulsa 35-7.
TCU is back in action following a week off after a Labor Day beat down of the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Frogs opened the season with an impressive statement on the road, defeating UNC 48-14. WR Jordan Dwyer & RB Kevorian Barnes dazzled in their TCU debuts; Dwyer with 9 receptions for 136 yards and a TD & Barnes with 113 rush yards and a score. The defense was dominant, delivering two touchdowns of its own – a Bud Clark pick-six and a Devean Deal scoop-and-score – while holding UNC 1-10 on third downs.
