As the list of injured Eagles players continues to grow, the team did get some good news about Jonathan Greenard, who left Sunday’s game against the Rams with an ankle injury. The edge rusher is considered day-to-day, and isn’t expected to miss long-term time.
Greenard’s availability, even in practice, is increasingly important, especially
considering he missed most of training camp with a pec injury. Eagles DC Vic Fangio always stresses the importance of live reps, and he hasn’t had many opportunities for those since being traded to Philly. Hopefully, the defender is able to return sooner rather than later, because he was expected to be a big part of the defensive plan this season.
The DE not only missed most of camp, but also missed the first two games of the regular season. He was on the field on a snap count in Week 3, but the intention was to ramp him up to about 30 snaps in Week 4 — he only managed 19 total snaps, which was just one more than his debut.
