Olise dithering or more nonsense? (AS)
The is clearly the summer of Michael Olise — and not just for his performances on pitch at the World Cup.
The Bayern Munich winger is in a new rumor every day at this point and this one is a bit different than the normal fare. Apparently, Olise wants to have a sit down to hear the plan that Bayern Munich has for the upcoming season:
Olise wants to clear up any doubts, to know what people in Munich think about his situation, to learn firsthand how Bayern values him after two seasons wearing their jersey
and proving himself to be among the best players in the world. He’s aware that several clubs are keeping an eye on him, wondering what he might do after the World Cup. So far, the attacker hasn’t commented on his position, and it will be at this meeting that he’ll speak directly with Bayern’s management.
As this newspaper has learned, Olise and his entourage want to sit down calmly after the World Cup , analyze everything, and decide what position to take in light of the dramatic change in circumstances that has occurred in just a few months. His rise has exceeded all expectations, and the Bavarian club must now accept this in one way or another.
Bayern Munich will be the first to know Olise’s thoughts , but in Munich they’re beginning to realize that anything can happen, even though they’re maintaining a calm and firm stance, keeping the contract in hand. They’re also aware that what he signed two years ago when he arrived at the club has little to do with the winger’s current status. The leap in quality he’s made is enormous, and his football has acquired a distinctive touch reserved for the greatest stars.
At the Bavarian club, they already know that Olise wants to talk to them and are beginning to suspect that he’s being swayed by everything that’s been circulating in recent weeks. They’ve been waiting for a sign from the player, which, so far, hasn’t materialized, leading to serious doubts.
Because this is the age we live in, there is yet another story linking Olise to Real Madrid with some lofty numbers included. The original report is from Sport (as captured by Siempre Madrid):
The Merengues, who valuetheir relationship with the Bundesliga champions very highly, recently had to issue an official statement clarifying that they are not in negotiations with the player. Still, these links refuse to die down, and have again resurfaced after the player himself has asked for a meeting with Bayern.
In such a context, a report from SPORT cites El Debate to claim that Real Madrid are preparing a blockbuster bid to convince the Bavarians to part ways with their star forward. This bid would be of €190 million plus €33 million in variables, and thus its total possible amount would rise to €223 million, i.e., €1 million more than PSG’s record acquisition of Neymar.
The veracity of this report still remains to be established, but with Real Madrid still reeling from the failures of the last two seasons, one cannot put it beyond them to make such a bid to land Michael Olise from Bayern Munich.
Olise could want a meeting with Bayern Munich for a number of reasons. From a positive standpoint, he might want to just talk about a contract extension. If, however, you want to lean negative, there are a few possibilities:
- Maybe Olise is actually considering a move to Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.
- Perhaps, Olise wants to talk about changing his positions (a popular social media speculative rumor).
For now, there is still no reason to panic or even worry…so, HOLD THE LINE!
PSG, Inter scoping Camavinga (ESPN)
Both Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are keeping an eye on Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavings, who might be available — or might not, depending on what you want to believe:
Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan. Diario AS reports that the two clubs are among several teams interested in acquiring the 23-year-old, who Los Blancos are open to offloading if they receive an offer worth €60 million amid hopes of reinforcing their squad in other areas. Camavinga made 43 appearances across all competitions last season and is set to discuss his future with manager Jose Mourinho before a final decision is made.
Official: Grimaldo to Atléti (Atlético Madrid)
After some speculation, former Bayer Leverkusen star Alejandro Grimaldo has headed back home to Spain to play for Atlético Madrid:
NUFC eyeing Nmecha (ESPN)
It will be interesting to see if clubs stay hot for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, who scuffled for Germany in his final two appearances:
Newcastle United are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha but are currently unwilling to meet the club’s €100 million asking price, The Chronicle has revealed. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a long-time admirer of the Germany international and previously considered signing him before Newcastle opted for Sandro Tonali in 2023. The Magpies are expected to pursue a deal only if BVB lower their demands, with several other Premier League clubs also monitoring Nmecha’s situation.
BVB knows that no one will pay nine-figures for Nmecha, so the chance of a move this summer seems very unlikely.
