Barcelona are reportedly already thinking about signing a striker in the January transfer window after seeing their hopes of landing Julian Alvarez fade.
Atletico are furious with the Catalans over their pursuit of the striker and have issued a statement to make it clear they have no intention of letting Alvarez move to Barcelona.
According to Marca, Barcelona are not expecting to make any big-name signings before the transfer window closes next week and “want to conserve funds and money for the January
transfer window: in case a good option arises to bolster their attack.”
Barcelona have been linked with many strikers this summer, as well as Alvarez, but it seems none have really convinced Hansi Flick and Deco.
Meanwhile, Flick has been thrilled with his team’s start to the season – after overseeing wins over Elche and Athletic Club – and has seen Raphinha and Fermin Lopez star for his team.
The plan now is not to go for a striker in the final days of the window but Barca “aren’t ruling out” potentially buying a No. 9 in the winter.
