The Dallas Cowboys coaching staff has been outcoached in both of the team’s losses this season, but their meltdown in Brazil to lose on the last play of this international game against the Ravens has put coaching right in the spotlight.
The heat isn’t stopping there for the 1-2 Cowboys, as quarterback Dak Prescott is still looking for his first win against a non-division opponent since last Thanksgiving. It doesn’t get easier for Dallas, as they sustained some key injuries in Rio de Janeiro too.

run game was a positive from the Ravens loss, but yet it’s one of the biggest “what if’s” from the end of the game as well.
Instead, we got to watch a final goal-line series consisting of two incompletions, a Prescott scramble, and a Terence Steele false start. Williams never got a chance to prove his worth.
We settled for a Brandon Aubrey field goal.
I can accept Baltimore stopping the run. I’m having a hard time digesting that Schottenheimer didn’t call one for Williams with a timeout available.

The Cowboys roster is good enough to the point the head coach shouldn’t be costing them games.
But the biggest stock down here has to be Brian Schottenheimer. He is both the head coach who oversees the entire operation and the offensive play-caller who got way too cute for much of this game and handicapped things at the end.
Schottenheimer’s hiring is now being called into question and it is hard to push back on any of those sorts of conversations.

The Ravens rose to the moment of responding off a loss, while the Cowboys couldn’t build on a win.
The Ravens needed the win in a hotly contested division.
The Steelers’ offense showed life in a 30-27 victory over the Bengals, with Aaron Rodgers finally hitting on some deep strikes after two weeks of them falling incomplete. If the Pittsburgh offense can keep splashing plays, and Rodgers isn’t broken in half, the Steelers will be a tough out.

Both of the Cowboys offseason additions at safety will be out for some time.
“The safety position is tough. We’ve been hit there, no question,” he told 105.3 the Fan. “And to the corner[back] spot as well, to the same degree. We’re very hopeful [Malik] Hooker will have a shot this week. But, unfortunately, it does look like we’re gonna miss [Jalen Thompson] for some weeks, along with [P.J.] Locke.
“That safety spot, we’ll definitely be looking to see if there’s a way to shore that up while those two [rehab]. They’re both looking at four-plus weeks of missing time.”

One of the best things going for the team on either side of the ball right now is the emergence of rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham in the middle of the defense.
Two times in the fourth quarter, Barham had big run stops. The first time came on a 4th-and-goal with the Cowboys down three points and trying to stay in the game. Barham avoided a block and brought down Henry for a loss and gave the Cowboys the ball back.
