Yesterday afternoon we learned that Ric Flair had been taken to a Tampa, Florida hospital after falling outside a restaurant. The 77-year-old pro wrestling legend had posted to social media hours earlier, expressing his regrets for having to miss a scheduled convention appearance in Washington state on the advice of doctors. It was the second cross-country booking Flair’s had to cancel in recent months due to a blood clot in his leg.
Friday afternoon’s fall left the Nature Boy with lacerations on his
face, and witnesses mentioned a possible concussion. We didn’t get any specifics from Ric’s daughter Charlotte last night, but the WWE star passed on the wrestling joke her father made as an indication he’s all right:
Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head…
(ps: he’s going to be ok)
Flair’s son-in-law, podcaster & promoter Conrad Thompson, posted the following this morning (Oct. 24). It’s possible Thompson could be talking about his friend Jim Ross, who was also hospitalized recently — either way, it’s positive news and doesn’t negate Charlotte’s post about her dad.
Thompson wrote:
He’s home. 🙏
Hopefully more good news will follow.
