KNOW THINE ENEMY: Covering the Corner
We’re back for a little evening baseball!
The Twins and Guardians are pulling double duty today, Radcliffe-style. When last we left our heroes, the Guardians had just won their ninth straight, which means they’re not just 1.5 GB of the division title, they’re only a game out of the Wild Card, as well. All of a sudden, Cleveland has a bevy of options at the table, and the soup
spoon in their hand. It’s up to Detroit to swat away the plates. (Huh?)
If you like David vs. Goliath matchups — where David has no money, no players, no talent, and no motivation, and Goliath is on a 9-game winning streak and also just beats David in direct combat — you’ll probably love tonight’s game, which ought to promise much of the same that could be seen this afternoon.
Logan Allen and Bailey Ober are the scheduled starters.
Bailey is hoping that Joe Ryan was possessed with his homer-happy spirit this afternoon, which would mean he has a chance to break out of his own unenergized stretch of outings and find something more positive to end his season on.
GO TWINS GO!
