Recently, former LSU star Jayden Daniels’s team sent a cease and desist letter to LSU over the use of his name, image, and likeness in the school’s promotional activities. It was also revealed that Daniels was upset over the school giving star CB DJ Pickett the #5 jersey, which is the number Daniels used in Baton Rouge.
Well, there’s another twist to the story. Per Matt Moscona, Daniels’s team made another request, this time, to give up their copy of the Heisman award.
LSU denied the requested and will be keeping the trophy. This entire situation has turned pretty ugly, pretty fast and although things were probably supposed to be dealt with behind closed doors, it’s in the public eye now. It would be a shock if LSU backs down without a fight, and Pickett is probably going to keep his #5.
