Northwestern junior Jordan Clayton is heading to the transfer portal, sources tell LeagueRDY.
In his third season at NU, Clayton started in 10 games and averaged 3.9 points per game. While used throughout his career primarily as a defensive asset, Clayton emerged this year as one of the Wildcats’ sharpshooters. He shot 41% from three, which ranked second on the team. That prowess was highlighted by a breakout performance against Maryland where he netted 6-of-7 from beyond the arc.
A three-star recruit from Medford, Massachusetts, Clayton had been one of the longest-tenured Wildcats and was part of the ‘Cats 2023-24 team that made the NCAA tournament. His loss creates a 3-and-D void — one of many the ‘Cats will need to fill this offseason.
Clayton marks the sixth transfer to leave Chris Collins’ squad, joining junior forward Arrinten Page, first-year forward Tre Singleton, first-year big man Cade Bennerman, sophomore guard K.J. Windham and senior guard Blake Smith.
