Barcelona are being linked with a move for 19-year-old Palmeiras defender Luis Benedetti and want to bring him in next year.
Journalist Diego Firmino reports that Barcelona and Arsenal are both keen on the defender and are in talks with the Brazilian side.
Palmeiras want €15 million and Barca are said to have offered €12m. Talks are now set to continue between the two sides over a possible deal.
Benedetti is a lanky defender – described as ‘the new Huijsen’ by AS – due to his speed, height and ball-playing ability.
He’s obviously a very highly-rated talent and looks as though he could be heading to Europe shortly, with clubs already battling for his signature.
Barcelona are being tipped to add to their defence next year after losing Inigo Martinez in the summer, and with Andreas Christensen into the final year of his deal with the club.
