After a 94-71 win over UW-Parkside in their first exhibition game, the Wisconsin Badgers are taking on UW-Green Bay in their second exhibition on Thursday, looking to continue improving with their new-look roster that featured four new starters over the weekend.
Wisconsin started Owen Foxwell, Jack Janicki, Eian Elmer, Nolan Winter, and Victory Onetu in their first exhibition game. Foxwell was brought in to start at point guard this offseason, while Elmer was the team’s prized pickup in the transfer
portal.
With Austin Rapp continuing to rehab from offseason surgery, the Badgers went big and started Onetu at center with Winter at power forward. Interestingly, Jack Janicki, whom the staff loves as a complementary wing, got the start at shooting guard over Braeden Carrington and Trey Autry.
Wisconsin went 11 deep in the 94-71 win, with Carrington, Autry, Will Garlock, Jackson Ball, Zach Kinziger, and Hayden Jones all seeing meaningful minutes in the first exhibition game.
Winter was the star in that one, scoring 15 points on 7 of 9 from the field while securing nine rebounds. Elmer had 14 points on 4 of 8 from the field, while Wisconsin shot 57.1 percent as a team.
The Badgers are starting the same group in their second exhibition game on Thursday night, with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m. central. You can listen in on the Badger Radio Network.
