Barcelona president Joan Laporta has been talking transfers once again and the possibility of Julian Alvarez arriving at the club from Atletico Madrid.
Alvarez has been repeatedly linked with a move to Barcelona, although there are huge doubts about whether the Catalans could afford to bring in the Argentina international.
Here’s what Laporta’s had to say when asked about the possibility of Alvarez arriaving at Camp Nou.
“He’s a great player, and they say he’d fit into Barça’s system. He’s not a player to break
the bank. First, he’d have to show his willingness to come, and it would have to be at a renewable price,” he told SER Catalunya program ‘Qué t’hi jugues’..
“Will a center forward come? First, we have to win the elections, and then Deco will decide. For now, we have Lewandowski and Ferran. It’s not impossible for another one to come, but we’ll see; Deco is working on it.”
A new center-forward does seem to be a priority for Barcelona this summer, although right now it’s still unclear how much the Catalans will have to spend in the summer window.
