Name: Luke Schairer
Position: Defenseman
Year: Freshman
Number: 10
Height: 6’3”
Hometown:
Charlotte, NCLast Season: Schairer spent the 2025-26 season skating with the US National Team Development Program, where he appeared in 62 games. Schairer had a goal and 21 assists in his time with the USNTDP, while also adding four assists in the five games that he played for the United States at the Under 18 World Junior Championships. Schairer was selected in the third round by the St. Louis Blues in the recent
NHL Entry draft with the 75th overall pick.
Season Outlook: There are some open spots near the top of BC’s defensive depth chart coming into the season and based on his pedigree, it seems likely the Schairer will at least get a look in the top four at some point early in the season. His scouting report describes him as an excellent skater who could excel as a shut down defenseman role, and that’s exactly the kind of player that most coaching staffs would love to have. We’ll see if that’s the kind of role he can handle from day one, but Schairer should at least get an early look to see if he can prove himself.
