Now THIS is the kind of transfer deadline day stuff I enjoy. Get a load of this: according to Tom Barclay, Spurs have rejected a bid from a “mystery club (not Brentford) for Archie Gray on what is now technically deadline day in the UK.
Yes, yes, it’s The S-n. Don’t click on the article link, just trust me when I say that Tom
Barclay is a good and reliable journalist writing for an utter s—trag of a newspaper. The whole “mystery club (not Brentford)” phrasing amuses me, though I should point out that Brentford DID express an interest in Archie earlier in the window, something that quickly got shut down, as Spurs have absolutely no intention of selling him.
Now, is Archie something of a work in progress? Absolutely. Does anyone really know what his true position is? Not based on current evidence! Is “mystery club (not Brentford)” kind of a wild thing for a professional journalist to say? Sure is! But it’s deadline day, and on deadline day standards get loosened. I mean, I’m embedding an article from the S-n (don’t click that link), ferchrissakes, it’s crazy! Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
Anyway, Tottenham aren’t selling Archie Gray. That’s your takeaway. You’re welcome.
