Raw airs tonight (Aug. 10) with a live show emanating from Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. This is the second episode of Raw during the nine week build to Money in the Bank, which takes place on October 10.
Sol Ruca’s WWE booking is an even bigger mystery now
WWE pretty much admitted Sol Ruca’s main roster run has been a bust so far when they booked her to lose the women’s Intercontinental championship to Raquel Rodriguez a couple of weeks ago. Instead of making Ruca look strong last week to recover from the loss, her match against Roxanne Perez ended
in disqualification. Sol was then laid out by the Judgment Day. This led to the surprise returns of Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer, leaving Ruca there to be someone who was clearly a lesser star.
Sol’s curious WWE booking gets even more mysterious tonight on Raw because she has a MYSTERY partner for a tag team match against Perez and Rodriguez. Sol has plenty of good options to choose from, with former women’s world champ IYO SKY being my prediction. Ruca better hold up her end of the bargain by not taking another L, especially if she chooses Lynch or Vaquer.

The rest of the card
There is a tournament featuring stars from WWE and AAA that will determine which luchador gets to lose against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns on Raw in Mexico City next month. The tournament kicks off tonight with a first round match of Penta vs. Laredo Kid. WWE should give this match a lot of time if they really want to start the tournament on the best note. Penta looks like the favorite to win the entire tournament, given the absence of El Grande Americano.
Low card guy Akira Tozawa actually had a run in last week to save Joe Hendry from a beatdown by World Tag Team Champion Austin Theory, after Hendry was already destroyed by World Tag Team Champion Bron Breakker. Now we’re getting Tozawa vs. Theory tonight, because there has to be at least one guy on the Raw roster who Theory ranks above and can beat without cheating. Will Otis return afterwards to save Tozawa if Theory and Maxxine Dupri try to further humiliate him?
Fresh off their surprise returns last week, Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer are both being advertised for live appearances on tonight’s broadcast. Will Lynch and Vaquer have to fist fight each other over the right to challenge Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, or will GM Adam Pearce get in front of that problem by booking a 3-way world title match?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– How does LA Knight feel about a luchador getting a world title match against Roman Reigns possibly before he does? Will the rest of the Bloodline henchmen be ordered to leave the megastar alone again tonight even if Roman isn’t in the building?
– Big Cass returned to WWE last week and immediately shoved his big boot down Je’Von Evans’ throat. Will Big get to beat Je’Von in a match sometime soon, or does he plan to just move on to the next random babyface to attack?
– For reasons that make no sense to me, Oba Femi didn’t confront Roman Reigns last week. However, he did cross paths with World Tag Team Champion Bron Breakker. The unstoppable badass had some smart ass words for Paul Heyman afterwards. Will Heyman make it clear which side he’s on tonight?
– Is Seth Rollins ready to return to Raw after taking last week off, or does he plan to take a longer break until Money in the Bank draws closer?
– AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio looked like a chump last week when he was pinned in a tag team match by Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable. Which babyface gets to follow in the footsteps of Danhausen and Gable by beating Dirty Dom’s ass tonight?
– Will SmackDown star Royce Keys stop coming over to Raw after the way Jacob Fatu damn near killed him last week?
– Where the f*** is Bayley? Will she ever return to Raw to get revenge on Lyra Valkyria?
