- Pick With The Lowest Ceiling (player closest to what they will be at the next level)
- Best Overall Pick
- Best Value Overall Pick
- Best Pick No One Else Sees As Great…Yet!
- Biggest Reach Pick
- Biggest Missed Opportunity Of The Draft
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
MiamiItaliano is another who wishes the team had selected Bain in the first round.
Highest ceiling: Proctor. There’s a reason they drafted him in the first round. If he loses 25 pounds, he can be a multi-time first team All Pro. But he has to put the work in and not be lazy.
Lowest ceiling: Caleb Douglas. Don’t see him fixing his drops. But I hope
he proves me wrong.
Best overall pick: Jacob Rodriguez. Guy will be a sideline to sideline tackling machine.
Best value pick: Kyle Louis. He should have went in the 3rd round and will be a major contributor.
Best pick no one else sees as great…yet: Seydou Traore. The more tape I watch on this guy at Mississippi State, the more I like. If he refines his route running and hands, he could be our starting TE in 2 or 3 years.
Biggest reach pick: Caleb Douglas. See above. He should have went in the 5th, maybe 6th.
Biggest missed opportunity: Not drafting Bain. I sure hope those short arms limit him in the NFL. Now the guy has a huge chip on his shoulder and is pissed at the 14 teams that passed on him, including Miami. The guy was a menace in college. I’m not looking forward to facing the Bucs in the future.
PA phinphan believes the 5th round TE has the most room to grow into his position.
Pick With The Highest Ceiling (still has a lot of room to grow as a player) TE Seydou Traore he is still learning the game but has plenty of athleticism and great hands
Pick With The Lowest Ceiling (player closest to what they will be at the next level) CB Chris Johnson not meant as a dis he is already CB1
Best Overall Pick LB Jacob Rodriguez
Best Value Overall Pick LB Kyle Louis
Best Pick No One Else Sees As Great…Yet! EDGE Max Llewellyn
Biggest Reach Pick LB Trey Moore
Biggest Missed Opportunity Of The Draft Downs
heatforlife is not buying into the hype for now.
6 years ago today the greatest dolphin of all time passed away rip don .im not buying any of the koolaid the media is selling us about the draft until they play we dont know who will be good who wont.theres a pretty good chance based on past ross hires most wont be to good.hope im wrong
NeenerWhacker seems excited about the 2nd round linebacker.
Pick With The Highest Ceiling (still has a lot of room to grow as a player): Proctor mainly due to maturity level and gas tank
Pick With The Lowest Ceiling (player closest to what they will be at the next level): Kacmarek, Durham Smythe 2.0
Best Overall Pick: Rodriguez, will be a stud and great leader at the next level
Best Value Overall Pick: Chris Bell
Best Pick No One Else Sees As Great…Yet!: Douglas, he will prove many doubters wrong
Biggest Reach Pick: Kacmarek
Biggest Missed Opportunity Of The Draft: Downs or Bain
pete s. says get over it!
everyone has to get over the we didn’t take bain/downs we had solid draft good foundation
two more like this one throw in a couple quality F/A next year and year after and our coaching
is solid WE GOOD
sdphinsfan says Louis is the guy to keep an eye on.
Pick With The Highest Ceiling (still has a lot of room to grow as a player)-Proctor, and I don’t think its close….
Pick With The Lowest Ceiling (player closest to what they will be at the next level)-Taafe, he’s the definition of a player that you pretty much know what you’re getting, and that’s ok…
Best Overall Pick-Rodriguez, he has the potential to be a star.
Best Value Overall Pick-Chris Bell, not even close…
Best Pick No One Else Sees As Great…Yet!-Kyle Louis-he’s going to have opportunities in this Defense to be productive. He’ll make a name for himself if he pans out.
Biggest Reach Pick-I’m going with Chris Johnson. High profile position and he’s making a big leap in competition level. And a first round pick carries a certain level of expectation.
JUK wishes the team had taken a look at a pass rusher early in the draft.
Highest ceiling – Tough one but I’ll go for proctor. A guy that size with that athleticism is truly rare
Lowest ceiling – Michael Taafe. Doesn’t have elite size or athleticism, think he will be a special teamer and a rotational guy (nothing wrong with that for a 5th rounder)
Best Overall pick – Johnson. Ticks every box except level of competition and even then he was great at the senior bowl
Best value pick – Bell. Getting a top 20 (at worst) talent in the late third is great risk reward. Did love Louis as well
Best no one thinks is great – Kacmarek has a really high floor and the nfl values that skill set much higher than casual fans and talking heads
Biggest reach – I’m not as mad about it as many but it’s still Douglas
Biggest missed opportunity – I wanted more draft collateral in 2027 but don’t think the offers were there. So maybe not grabbing a pass rusher earlier
Phoenix6 is another on board with Rodriquez.

StanleyDoyle1 doesn’t have a lot of faith in the WR’s taken.
Best overall will hopefully be Rodriguez. He’s the only one I’m excited about watching play. As far as value, can see LB Louis being a Glenn Blackwood type of pick – i.e., someone whose intelligence carries him where his body can’t. I think all of the drafted WRs have peaked, and have the lowest ceilings. I can see them being gone within two years. Highest ceiling? Everyone will say Proctor, but I think he’ll be Austin Jackson II – basically, a serviceable tackle and nothing more. So maybe CB Johnson – although I think he’ll be fine, but nothing special.
Well there is as is the norm with our fanbase no true consensus across the board but many more are happy with the draft overall than I would have expected. Here’s to hoping against all logic that every damn one of these guys works out because this roster sure as hell needs it. As always thank you to each of you who took the time to answr out Phinsider Question Of The Day.
