The Kentucky Wildcats are moving on in the NCAA Tournament after a Sweet 16 sweep of Cal Poly on Thursday afternoon.
After winning the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19, the Wildcats went on a 10-0 run in the final set to win 25-7 and clinch a spot in the Elite Eight.
Lizzie Carr led the way with a game-high tying 11 kills, while Molly Tuozzo had a team-best nine digs. Eva Hudson chipped in nine kills and seven digs.
Up next, Kentucky will play host to No. 3 seed Creighton, who made easy work of Arizona
State in a 3-1 win prior to Kentucky’s game vs. Cal Poly. That win-or-go-home game will happen Saturday afternoon inside Historic Memorial Coliseum. The game will be aired on the ESPN family of networks at a time that will be announced by ESPN on Thursday evening.
Riding a 25-game winning streak, Kentucky is now one game shy of just its second Final Four berth in program history. This also marks the sixth all-time regional final the Cats have played in, four coming under head coach Craig Skinner.
Go Cats!
