Barcelona have reportedly confirmed they have made a €100 million offer for Julian Alvarez as they try to bring the Argentina international to Camp Nou this summer.
Atletico Madrid have made it clear they are “very angry” with the constant speculation about their striker, but reports continue to swirl that Alvarez wants to head to the Camp Nou.
According to Cadena Ser, Atletico “don’t value” Barcelona’s offer but could be willing to negotiate if an offer of €150 million was made for Alvarez.
Barcelona
have already splashed out a reported fee of €80m to land Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and it’s not clear yet if they will return with an improved offer for Alvarez.
The Catalans are believed to be determined to land the Atletico star this summer but are also being linked with a move for Bernardo Silva and potentially a defender as well.
Some exits are likely to be needed if Barca are to land all their summer targets. A deal for Ansu Fati has been agreed, while there’s speculation that Marc Casado and Roony Bardghji could be sold.
Yet bidding €150m for Alvarez would still represent a huge commitment by Barca.
So tell us what you think. Should Barcelona go all out for Alvarez and offer €150m or is it time to look at alternative options? Share your opinions in the comments below!
