The Pittsburgh Steelers continue their search for a new head coach after Mike Tomlin stepped down following the team’s wild card loss to the Houston Texans. The Steelers have put in interview requests for nine different candidates. It has been reported that Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is getting a second interview with the team, and now the Steelers are doing a second interview with another defensive coordinator.
Per Ian Rapoport, the Steelers are expected to bring in Miami
Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver for a second interview.
“Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver is expected to have a second, in-person interview with the Steelers for their HC position this week, source said,” Rapoport reports.
Weaver has been the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator since 2024. Before that, he was the defensive line coach and assistant head coach with the Baltimore Ravens from 2022-23. From 2016-20, he served as the Houston Texans’ defensive line coach and was the team’s defensive coordinator in his final season.
