The lucha libre world was buzzing when CMLL announced that La Catalina declined to re-sign. Rumors pointed to the free agent signing with rival promotion AAA. The stage was set for a surprise to crash Flammer’s coronation celebration on the latest episode of AAA TV (Apr. 11, 2026) live from Mexico City. The crowd went wild when Catalina appeared. This marks the first free agent acquisition to jump from CMLL to AAA in the WWE era of lucha libre.
Las Toxicas opened the show putting over Flammer as the greatest
luchadora of all-time due to being the Reina de Reinas champion for 974 days. Flammer thanked all the women who weren’t good enough to beat her. Flammer declared that there is no one left and her reign will never end.
That’s when a vignette played on screen to reveal La Catalina in a pink Cadillac. The Chilean strut to the ring with style. If you aren’t familiar with Catalina, just listen to the pop from the crowd to understand her potential as a star.
Catalina offered sarcastic praise for Flammer. She hopes the champ enjoys her party. Catalina turned to exit, then she teased, “But…” Flammer has never faced Catalina. After being called b*tches, Las Toxicas attacked. Catalina cleared the ring and smooshed Flammer’s face into the cake. The crowd erupted with excitement and chanted Catalina’s name. She hit a running butt attack to Flammer in the ropes and stood tall holding the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.
What a great debut for Catalina. The energy was electric, and the fans treated her like a big star. Even if you don’t understand Spanish, Catalina’s charisma was undeniable. The crowd will be hot whenever she wins the women’s title, presumably from Flammer.
Catalina’s arrival in AAA was cemented with the obligatory photo with the Undertaker.
