With just days to go before AEW’s return to Wembley Stadium for this year’s All In PPV, the first-ever AEW Men’s World champion wasn’t on the card.
Chris Jericho was added to the card for London on Dynamite from Glasgow, Scotland today (Aug. 26). He actually added himself in a backstage promo on the tonight’s show, saying everyone should want to be World champ — including veterans like himself. In order to get the belt back, Jericho will take part in his first-ever Casino Gauntlet. That’s AEW’s take on a staggered-entry
battle royal, with the twist being that the match can end at any time, so any entrant after numbers one and two may never get a chance to win it.
Jericho also booked himself a warm-up. His trios match with Speedball Mike Bailey and Komander against Tommaso Ciampa, Nick Wayne, and The Don Callis’ Family’s Mark Davis will serve as a Casino Gauntlet preview. Callis entered Davis in Sunday’s #1 contenders edition earlier on Dynamite.
Collision’s already taped (spoilers coming right up), so you don’t have to be in suspense about that trios match. As for Sunday’s Casino Gauntlet and the next #1 contender for the Men’s World title?
